FROM THE PRESIDENT

Welcome to October, where the opening of the FAFSA combines with the looming Early Action and Early Decision deadlines to create a near perfect storm in college admissions.  However, 2019’s storms include a few additional squalls known by those in the field as DOJ and CEPP.  And if that wasn’t enough, we received news from the great state of California that college athletes may begin signing endorsement deals as soon as 2023.  There is no doubt that the Governor of California didn’t realize all that’s going on in college admissions right now so while his signing of this new law may be righteous, it has caused our normally rough October seas to turn into rogue waves the likes we’ve never witnessed before.  Batten down the hatches.  We have rough seas ahead.  READ MORE

NACAC NEWS

Dear PCACAC friends and colleagues:

The message written by newly elected NACAC President, Jayne Caflin Fonash, outlines the results of voting that occurred at the 2019 NACAC Assembly meeting on Saturday, September 28th.  We encourage you to review the message in its entirety as well as review the specific revisions that were affected in the CEPP.  As we begin to navigate this new time in college admissions, we believe that all of us will continue to advocate for students to the best of our abilities.

We stand together during this trying time.  Please reach out to any of us with questions or comments.

Your PCACAC leadership,

Joel Lang, President
John "Jake" Talmage, Immediate Past President
Rebekah LaPlante, President-Elect
