A Message From Our President

Dear PCACAC Members:

We trust this message finds you well. In early February, we shared an update from NACAC CEO Angel Pérez about the steps the organization is taking to support members and families in response to a delayed FAFSA. We are also committed to keeping PCACAC members apprised of any new developments.

NACAC has now released a new FAFSA resource page that is rich with information from the Department of Education, the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), and the National College Attainment Network (NCAN). Please help us promote this resource as widely as possible, and please also take a moment to read this month’s Government Relations Committee update, which contains additional information.

In other PCACAC news, mark your calendars for our inaugural PCACAC regional College Fair, slated for April 11, 2024, at Howard High School from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This event promises to be an invaluable opportunity for students and families across the school district.

If you haven't already, we urge you to register for the upcoming 59th Annual PCACAC Conference on April 14 - 16 in Norfolk, Virginia! Be sure not to miss the pre-conference Coming Together experience, where focused conversations and professional development centered around Diversity, Inclusion, and Access await. Our Conference Planning team, alongside our Inclusion and Access Team and Professional Development chairs, have been diligently preparing to ensure an exceptional conference experience under the theme "Charting the Future."

Throughout February, PCACAC honors Black History Month, celebrating the myriad achievements of African Americans and acknowledging their pivotal role in U.S. history. It's a time to spotlight the extensive history of the broader Black diaspora and recognize the profound impact and leadership of individuals across our region.

Warm regards,
